Case Information Statement (CIS)
Case Information Statement (CIS)
A Case Information Statement (CIS) provides the court with detailed information about the parties’ financial circumstances in an alimony case. It includes income, expenses, assets, debts, and other relevant financial information for each party. The CIS may also include information about the parties’ employment history, education, and any special needs or circumstances that may impact their financial situation. The court uses the CIS to determine the appropriateness, amount, and duration of an alimony award, taking into account factors such as each party’s earning capacity, their standard of living during the marriage, and their ability to maintain that standard of living after the divorce.
