Letter of Representation
Letter of Representation
A letter of representation is a written statement provided by a party to a contract, attesting to the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of the information or documents they have submitted. In construction, a contractor may provide a letter of representation to the owner, certifying that the work has been performed in accordance with the contract documents, plans, and specifications, and that all necessary permits, inspections, and approvals have been obtained. The letter may also include statements regarding the contractor’s compliance with labor, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as the status of payments to subcontractors and suppliers. The purpose of a letter of representation is to provide assurance and accountability to the owner and to protect the contractor from potential claims or liabilities arising from misrepresentations or omissions.
