Notice of Final Cure Payment

A Notice of Final Cure Payment is a legal document filed by a debtor or trustee in a Chapter 13 bankruptcy case to inform a creditor that all payments required to cure a default on a secured debt have been made. The notice must be filed within 30 days after the final payment is made and must include information about the debt, the amount of the default, and the date on which the final payment was made. The purpose of the notice is to provide the creditor with an opportunity to object to the debtor’s assertion that the default has been cured and to ensure that the debtor’s rights and obligations with respect to the secured debt are properly addressed in the bankruptcy case. If the creditor does not object to the notice, the debt will be considered current and the debtor will be entitled to retain the collateral securing the debt.
