Lease Renewals

Lease renewals are the processes by which tenants and landlords agree to extend the term of an existing lease agreement for an additional period of time. Lease agreements may include automatic renewal clauses that specify the conditions and procedures for renewing the lease, such as the amount of notice required and any changes to the rent or other terms. In the absence of an automatic renewal clause, tenants and landlords may negotiate a new lease agreement or continue the tenancy on a month-to-month basis. Tenants should provide written notice to the landlord of their intention to renew or terminate the lease, typically at least 30-60 days before the expiration of the current lease term.
