Request for Admissions
Request for Admissions
A request for admissions is a type of discovery request in which one party asks the opposing party to admit or deny specific facts or allegations related to the case. The purpose of the request is to narrow the issues in dispute and to establish certain facts as true without the need for further proof at trial. The requests must be relevant to the case and must not be overly broad or burdensome. The responding party must either admit, deny, or object to each request, and any admissions made are binding on that party in court. If a party fails to respond or provides inadequate responses, the court may deem the requests admitted. Requests for admissions can be a useful tool for streamlining the litigation process and reducing the time and expense of trial.
