Copyright Reexamination Request

A Copyright Reexamination Request is a petition filed with the U.S. Copyright Office to review the validity of a registered copyright. It can be filed by anyone who believes that the registration was improper or invalid, such as due to lack of originality, prior publication, or fraud. The Copyright Office will review the request and the registration materials and issue a decision to cancel, amend, or maintain the registration.
