Motion to Dismiss

A Motion to Dismiss is a legal request filed by a defendant in a copyright infringement lawsuit, asking the court to dismiss the case for lack of jurisdiction, failure to state a claim, or other procedural grounds. If granted, the motion can result in the dismissal of some or all of the claims without a trial on the merits. The plaintiff may have an opportunity to amend the complaint or appeal the dismissal.
