Form I-130 (Petition for Alien Relative)

Form I-130 is a petition filed by a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident to establish a qualifying relationship with a foreign family member who wishes to immigrate to the United States. This form is the first step in the family-based immigration process and must be approved by USCIS before the foreign relative can apply for an immigrant visa or adjustment of status. The petitioner must provide evidence of their U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status, as well as proof of the qualifying relationship with the beneficiary.
