Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status

Form I-485 is used by foreign nationals who are physically present in the United States to apply for lawful permanent resident status, also known as a Green Card. In immigration court proceedings, a copy of the filed Form I-485 and any relevant supporting documents may be submitted as evidence of the respondent’s eligibility for adjustment of status.
