Form N-600 is an application filed by individuals who were born outside the United States but who may have automatically acquired U.S. citizenship through their parents. This form is typically used by children who were born abroad to U.S. citizen parents, or who were adopted by U.S. citizens, and who wish to obtain a Certificate of Citizenship as proof of their status. The applicant must provide evidence of their eligibility, such as their parents’ U.S. citizenship, their own birth and/or adoption records, and proof of legal and physical custody.
