Medical Examination (Form I-693) (if applicable)

Certain foreign nationals seeking adjustment of status or other immigration benefits may be required to undergo a medical examination by a designated civil surgeon. The results of the examination are recorded on Form I-693, which must be submitted to USCIS in a sealed envelope. In immigration court proceedings, the medical examination may be reviewed to determine the respondent’s admissibility and eligibility for relief.
