Medical Examination (Form I-693)

The beneficiary must undergo a medical examination by a designated civil surgeon to ensure that they are not inadmissible to the United States on health-related grounds. The results of the examination are recorded on Form I-693, which must be submitted to USCIS in a sealed envelope. In immigration court proceedings, the medical examination may be reviewed by the immigration judge to determine the respondent’s admissibility and eligibility for relief.
