Form I-131 (Application for Travel Document)

Form I-131 is an application filed by certain foreign nationals seeking permission to travel outside the United States while their immigration case is pending. The form may be used to apply for a Reentry Permit (for lawful permanent residents), a Refugee Travel Document (for refugees and asylees), or an Advance Parole Document (for adjustment of status applicants). Form I-131 requires the applicant to provide personal information, the purpose and duration of their intended travel, and any supporting documentation. The form is adjudicated by USCIS and, if approved, allows the applicant to return to the United States without abandoning their pending application.
