Form I-751 (Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence)

Form I-751 is a petition filed by a conditional permanent resident seeking to remove the conditions on their residence and obtain a permanent green card. Conditional residence is granted to foreign nationals who obtain permanent residence through marriage to a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and the conditions must be removed within two years to avoid losing their status. Form I-751 requires the petitioner to provide evidence that their marriage was entered into in good faith and that they continue to reside with their U.S. citizen or permanent resident spouse. The form is adjudicated by USCIS and, if approved, results in the issuance of a permanent green card.
