Form I-765 (Application for Employment Authorization)

Form I-765 is an application filed by certain foreign nationals to request employment authorization in the United States. The form is used by various categories of noncitizens, such as asylum seekers, students, or spouses of certain nonimmigrant workers, to obtain an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) that allows them to work legally in the United States. Form I-765 requires the applicant to provide their personal information, eligibility category, and any supporting documentation and is adjudicated by USCIS. If approved, the applicant will receive an EAD card valid for a specific period of time.
