Proof of Eligibility for Adjustment of Status

Adjustment of status is the process by which a foreign national can apply for lawful permanent resident status from within the United States. To be eligible for adjustment of status, the individual must meet certain requirements, such as having a qualifying family relationship or employment-based visa petition. In immigration court proceedings, proof of eligibility for adjustment of status may include a copy of the approved visa petition, evidence of the respondent’s lawful entry and maintenance of status, and other supporting documents.
