Proof of Rehabilitation (if applicable)

Proof of rehabilitation refers to evidence demonstrating an individual’s efforts to reform and lead a law-abiding life following a criminal conviction. In immigration court proceedings, this evidence may be relevant in establishing a foreign national’s eligibility for certain forms of relief, such as a waiver of inadmissibility or cancellation of removal. Examples of proof of rehabilitation may include completion of drug or alcohol treatment programs, counseling or therapy records, community service or volunteer work, and letters of support from religious or community leaders. The purpose of presenting this evidence is to show that the individual has taken responsibility for their past actions, has made positive changes in their life, and is unlikely to engage in future criminal activity.
