Translations of Foreign-Language Documents

In immigration court proceedings, any documents submitted as evidence that are not in English must be accompanied by certified translations. This ensures that all parties, including the immigration judge, government attorney, and the respondent, can understand the content of the documents. The translations must be complete and accurate, and the translator must certify that they are competent to translate from the foreign language into English. Failure to provide certified translations may result in the documents being excluded from evidence or given less weight by the immigration judge.
