The International Ship Security Certificate (ISSC) is a document that certifies a ship’s compliance with the requirements of the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code. Key features include:

1. Ship’s name, type, and IMO number

2. Name and address of the company operating the ship

3. Date of issue and expiry

4. Security level at which the ship is currently operating

5. Verification that the ship has an approved Ship Security Plan

This certificate is required for all passenger ships and cargo ships of 500 gross tonnage and above engaged in international voyages, as mandated by SOLAS Chapter XI-2. It demonstrates that the ship has implemented adequate security measures to prevent and respond to security threats.
