The Continuous Synopsis Record (CSR) is a document that provides a comprehensive history of a ship throughout its operational life. Key features include:
1. Ship identification information (name, IMO number, flag, etc.)
2. Record of the ship’s registered owners
3. Record of the ship’s registered bareboat charterers
4. Name of the ship’s classification society
5. Name of the Administration or Contracting Government issuing the Document of Compliance
This document is required for all passenger ships and cargo ships of 500 gross tonnage and above engaged in international voyages, as per SOLAS Chapter XI-1. It provides a continuous record of the ship’s history, enhancing transparency and facilitating port state control inspections.
