International Air Pollution Prevention Certificate (IAPPC)

The International Air Pollution Prevention Certificate (IAPPC) is a document certifying that a ship complies with the requirements of MARPOL Annex VI for the prevention of air pollution. Key features include:

1. Ship’s particulars (name, distinctive number or letters, port of registry, gross tonnage)

2. Details of engines, including output and rated speed

3. Sulphur oxides (SOx) control measures

4. Nitrogen oxides (NOx) control measures

5. Ozone-depleting substances control measures

This certificate is required for ships of 400 gross tonnage and above engaged in international voyages. It ensures that ships have implemented necessary measures to reduce harmful emissions, including greenhouse gases and ozone-depleting substances, thereby minimizing the impact of shipping on air quality and climate change.
